The ‘Hut’- Te Whare-iti EcoStay
Experience a taste of tiny living on the Wild West Coast!
More than just a place to stay The ‘Hut’ offers a number 8 wire, back to nature real Kiwi experience, West Coast stylz.
We take sustainability seriously and are fully off grid complete with composting toilet, gas califont for water heating and use recycled materials wherever possible. The ‘Hut’ is Kiwi ingenuity at it’s best, a unique, one of a kind, authentic experience.
Wood Fired Bush Bath
Lay back in our wood fired Bush bath while you listen to the evening chorus of Tui, Weka and more while the hills reflect the golden glow of the sun setting over the Tasman Sea. Enjoy drying off in front of the fire pit and top it all off with some complimentary toasted marsh mellows. Be lulled to sleep by the crashing waves and if you are up around 3-4am you may even hear New Zealand’s Great Spotted kiwi/ Roroa.

Samuel’s Review
“Do yourself a big favour and stay here! A perfect weekend escape (or longer!) Handy to all the West Coast hot spots. The surroundings are perfect. Check out Shelly's eco oasis. Cook on the BBQ, sit around the fire with hot choc and marshmallows, relax in the wood fired bath, and sleep in a cosy hut, we did it all:) Everything is so well laid out and practical, and all made by Shelly. The only down side was having to leave! I reckon I will be back again. Thanks Shelly.” 16/17 March 2024
